Symantec Enforcement Agent is developed by Symantec Corporation and is used by 3 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 5.1. The name of the program executable file is Smc.exe. The product will soon be reviewed by our informers.
Symantec Enforcement Agent was foisted upon us by the corporate security honchos without
consideration to how it corrupts our working environment. In the past year, at least 20 times my PC
has locked up upon bootup while an inegrity check screen appears. Have to give it the three-fingered
salute to recover. Also, we use specialized forms software, and S.E.A. doesn't play nice with it,
and will sometimes kill the forms app without warning, causing hours of lost work. We're already
behind a corporate firewall. All in all, this hurts our productivity, but getting anyone in
corporate security to help us is a pipe dream. I understand that some of the problems might not be
S.E.A.'s fault, but companies looking to foist this on their employees would do well to ensure that
they don't interfere with productivity.
